Spotify Launches AI Playlist Feature for Personalized Music Experience

Streaming music service Spotify has introduced a new feature powered by artificial intelligence (AI) called AI Playlist, which creates playlists based on user-provided text prompts.

According to Spotify, creating a new playlist using the AI Playlist option is simple. Users just need to enter a request or idea for the playlist, which can be anything from “sad music for painting dying flowers” to “tracks for a girls’ night out” or “a playlist that makes me feel like a hero.”

The text prompts for creating a playlist can include various places, animals, actions, movie characters, colors, and even emojis. However, the best playlists are created when the requests include genres, moods, artists, and decades, as suggested by Spotify.

• To use the AI Playlist feature, users need to first open the Spotify mobile app and select “My Library.”
• Next, they need to tap the “+” button in the top right corner and choose AI Playlist.
• The app will then offer various text prompts for generating the playlist. Users can select one of them or enter their own.
• Spotify will suggest several tracks that match the request. Users can remove songs and add any additional comments, such as “more pop music” or “let the playlist be more upbeat.”
• Finally, users need to press “Create,” and the new playlist will be automatically saved in their library.

As this is a brand-new tool, it is currently in beta version. It is currently available to Spotify Premium users on Android and iOS devices in the United Kingdom and Australia. Spotify mentions that developers are continuously improving the feature and expanding its availability.
